Welcome to our music community, where students love to learn and play the their instrument. We focus on developing confident music literacy, proper technique and inspiring a love for music. Our teachers currently offer violin, viola, cello and piano lessons.
ABOUT US
Sydney Violin School is a music studio specialising in violin located in the Inner West of Sydney (Burwood) that is committed to teaching students to become proficient and independent musicians. Our team isn’t limited to violin teachers, we also have viola, cello and piano teachers who are highly experienced.
The learning atmosphere at Sydney Violin School is friendly, encouraging and positive. Our teachers are passionate, highly trained and reputable. Our students are bright and confident.
Throughout the year, our students are provided opportunities to participate in studio concerts every term, local eisteddfods, our annual school concert, exclusive chamber music and theory programs, and music examinations. Face to face AMEB Examinations are offered twice a year for students that are ready and wish to pursue a grade examination and online exams are available during the larger part of the year.
We are an AMEB approved examination venue.
We offer music theory classes during the school holidays which are a pre-requisite for students sitting AMEB examinations.
We offer piano accompanist solutions for all student exams, auditions and eisteddfods.

Welcome to our music studio on Level 2 of the GM Tower in the heart of Burwood, 2 minutes from Burwood Train Station. HOLIDAY MUSIC THEORY GROUP CLASSES
Group theory classes are available during the school holidays. Classes are offered based on expression of interest and level of comprehension ability. We also offer one-on-one theory classes year round. Please call us to find out more.
AMEB EXAMINATION ENROLMENTS - COMPREHENSIVE & REPERTOIRE
AMEB Examinations are offered twice a year for Comprehensive Exams and almost year round for Repertoire Exams. Students work closely with their teachers towards a goal to help make practice efficient and progressive. We offer piano accompanist solutions for all students preparing for exams, auditions, scholarships, eisteddfods etc.
CHAMBER MUSIC HOLIDAY PROGRAMS
Exclusive school holiday experience for our students wishing to play in small groups. Our chamber music program is 4 hours and includes tutorials, aural skills, musical games, meditation, sight reading challenges, rehearsing and a mini performance. Chamber pieces are selected according to the group’s average instrumental abilities.
LITTLE DUCKS PROGRAM (2.5 TO 4.5 YEARS OLD)
Our Little Ducks Program is Orff-based and has been specially designed to suit young children aged between 2.5 to 4.5 years old age who are interested to begin musical experiences without formal lessons. Parents are welcome in these classes and recommended to attend for an engaging bonding session with their children.
We are currently taking expressions of interest for the program beginning in Term 4, 2024.

AUTUMN FAMILY VIOLIN CONCERT 2021
7th March, 2021
Our Autumn Family Violin Concert was held at the prestigious Strathfield Town Hall. The concert featured students from beginner to Grade 5 levels. All our students practiced intently for months, rehearsed dutifully with piano accompaniment and performed with confidence and musicality! It was a highly memorable night for all.
MUSIC THEORY HOLIDAY CLASS 2021

Our lovely kids are learning practical theory, memorising with musical flash cards, and having fun with ear training games around the piano.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2019
23rd November, 2019
Sydney Violin School’s first Christmas Concert was held at the Penfold Ballrom at the Woodstock Community Centre, Burwood. Students began preparing the ensemble part of the program 6 weeks before the concert. We had three ensembles - our Little Stars trio performing an arrangement of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, our Junior Stars Quartet performing Ode to Joy and Jingle Bells, and our Senior Stars Quartet performing J.S. Bach’s Minuet No. 3 and an arrangement of Beauty and the Beast. Our rehearsals were full of fun but serious team work was required! Rehearsals were open to parents to watch.
CHAMBER MUSIC PROGRAM: AUTUMN SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
12th April, 2021
Our students had a very memorable 3 days during the second week of the Term 1 school holidays at our Chamber Music Program! Our Little Stars rehearsed “Ode to Joy” and “Over the Rainbow” in four parts and our Junior Stars worked on a challenging classic - “Pachelbel’s Canon” arranged for four violins.
THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY CONCERT
16th July, 2022
Our students celebrated Sydney Violin School’s 3 Year Anniversay by performing at the Strathfield Town Hall on 16th July, 2022. It was an amazing night with two string ensembles, three chamber groups and 45 solo performances!!
AMEB EXAMINATION UPDATE 2022
4th December, 2022
Our students all received A+ or A in 2022 AMEB examinations from Grade 1 through to Grade 7.
CHRISTMAS CHARITY CONCERT
18th December, 2022
20 of our students aged between 5 to 13 got together to perform a medley of Christmas carols to raise money for Symphony for Life foundation, we raised a total of $750!
